Morpheus8’s minimally invasive skin procedure stimulates the production of elastin, collagen, and hyaluronic acid to tighten loose skin and correct volume loss. Dr. Maakan Taghizadeh (“Dr. Tag”) at U Plastic Surgery + Aesthetics is proud to offer this innovative aesthetic solution for his patients in and beyond Baltimore, MD.

What Is Morpheus8?

If you are concerned about dimpling on your thighs, loose skin under your upper arms, sagging skin on your back or torso, or skin laxity anywhere on your chest, neck, or face, Morpheus8 may be just the game-changing approach you’ve been waiting for. One of Morpheus8’s most notable benefits is that it works well with all skin tones and has a minor risk of hyperpigmentation. Morpheus8 works equally well with light and dark skin tones.

Morpheus8’s versatility stems from its various micro-needle configurations, which cover the entire body, including the Prime 12 pin, the Resurfacing 24 pin, the Morpheus8 24 pin, and the Body 40 pin. Each configuration features depth control to deliver clinically proven radiofrequency energy at the precise depth required to address various cosmetic concerns throughout the body, not just the face, neck, and hands.

What to Expect ON The Day of Morpheus8?

Dr. Tag can use Morpheus8 almost anywhere on the body. We most commonly use it to treat the face, upper and lower eyelids, neck, arms, legs, and abdomen. Morpheus8 can also address sagging tissues along the jawline and other areas where skin elasticity has been lost. The procedure steps are outlined below for both the face and body:

Face

The procedure is performed in our office while you are fully awake and usually only requires topical anesthesia along with nerve blocks as needed. Once the area is numb, we’ll place the Morpheus8 handheld device with 24 micro-needle electrodes on your skin. Once deployed into the dermis, these tiny electrodes deliver fractionated thermal energy to the skin’s deep layers, where collagen concentration is highest. This creates fractionated heat zones within the dermis without injury to the outer skin.

We repeat the process along the entire area in need of treatment. Radiofrequency heat delivery to the treated areas stimulates dermal remodeling, leading to the formation of new elastin, collagen, and hyaluronic acid, resulting in visible skin improvement. Morpheus8 can also be combined with other treatments for a more significant effect. It can be beneficial to pair Morpheus8 with FaceTite, an advanced RF treatment that reduces fullness and tightens loose skin in the lower face. The combination of minimally invasive procedures can produce results comparable to a facelift.

Body

Morpheus8 Body takes fractional resurfacing to new depths, delivering the deepest fractional treatments possible by penetrating up to 8 mm into the subdermal tissue. Morpheus8 Body combines the effectiveness of micro-needling with radiofrequency energy to remodel the adipose layer, which previously was not achievable. The micro-needles penetrate the subdermal layer up to 8 mm, making it an effective tool to use virtually anywhere on the body. In comparison, other companies only go to 3mm, while our Morpheus8 for the face already reaches 4mm, making this double the depth of anything on the market.

Adipose tissue is smoothed out and reduced, and the micro-injuries caused by the needles stimulate collagen production, tightening the skin and prompting the body’s natural healing response to take effect. Your treatment area appears smoother, tighter, and younger with a more pleasing silhouette. Equipped with Burst mode RF technology, Morpheus8 Body automatically deploys bipolar RF energy to multi-level treatment depths in a single cycle. The ability to target tissue sequentially at three levels, in millisecond intervals, enables a significant reduction in treatment times, minimizes skin injury, increases treatment uniformity, and allows for customized full-body fractional procedures. Morpheus8 Body can be combined with BodyTite, with or without liposuction, to improve contour, skin tightening, and fat reduction significantly.

Morpheus8 Recover

Downtime after Morpheus8 varies from two days to two weeks. You can expect some redness, bruising, and swelling after your treatment, and small scabs may form in the treated area. Patients should moisturize the treatment area and avoid direct sun exposure. We also recommend using a good broad-spectrum sunscreen every day. Besides reducing the future risk of skin cancer, sunscreens also reduce wrinkles and slow the aging process. Since patient downtime is minimal, you can apply makeup one to two days after the treatment. Patients can expect micro lesions to appear a few days after treatment and slight redness for up to one week, depending on the treatment parameters.
